Preliminary plans for February 09

Hey Lenten golfers:

In looking around for places/dates/deals for Feb. 09 we've gone from Florida to the Dominican Republic! We've headed back the search towards Florida and specifically to Amelia Island. I've gone on several excellent golf trips there and I highly recommend the place -- one of my favorite of all the places we've gone to. It will be a bit colder up north in Florida (near Jacksonville) but the average temps look to be between 47 and 66 -- kind of like fall golf here on the Cape.

The 4 courses there are excellent and the amenities are well done. The cost will be less because it is a bit north from Orlando line of demarcation (warmer weather line). I am suggesting we consider it and begin to focus on numbers of guys going and tying down the dates and numbers.
They have some unlimited golf packages that bring the prices way down -- includes golf, condo lodging, health spa, etc.

Please let me know which dates you like:

Option 1: February 4 (Wed) through Feb. 8 (Sunday)
Arrive on Wed a.m. and play 18 that day.
Play 36 on Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and 18 on Sunday a.m. before departure

Option 2: February 5 (Thurs) through Feb. 8 (Sunday)
Arrive Wed night (no golf Wed) and play 36 on Thurs, Fri., Sat. and 18 on Sunday before departure.

Option 3: February 5 " through Feb 9 (Monday)
Arrive Thursday a.m. and play 18 on Thurs. 36 on Friday, Sat. and Sunday, and 18 on Monday before departure.

Option 4: Same as 1 but the next week (Feb 11 - 15)
Option 5: Same as 2 but the next week (Feb 12 - 15)
Option 6: Same as 3 but the next week (Feb 12 - 16)

Option 7: Same as 1 and 4 but the following week (Feb 18 - 22)
Option 8: Same as 2 and 5 but the following week (Feb 19 - 22)
Option 9: Same as 3 and 6 but the following week (Feb. 19 - 23)

Some school breaks take place during the week of 16 -20 so prices of travel might be higher?

Also: start sending me names of folks who you have talked to about the trip. We'll need to get the number nailed down but I don't think we can go more than 16 and no less than 8 (Of course, that leaves 12).
