Games coming together

Fore!
I've been in touch with Nick Onken at the club and he's going to help us with details and some of the games. I'll provide the pairings to him and he'll have the carts and signs set up for us when we get there each a.m. We leave the clubs at the clubhouse overnight and they set up the carts.

Note: Bring $70 each for the game pool -- this will include all the games and the longest drive contests and the closest to the pin contests. If you play and get on a good team each day, you'll win!

FRIDAY MORNING: Quota match (4 man team vs 4 man team) and (2 man blind draw from the hat at lunch) = 2 competitions for the morning round. Quota is based off of your handicap and sloped to the course. You score this way: 1 point for bogey; 2 points for par; 4 points for birdie; 8 points for eagle. Each player keeps his total quota point score. At the end of the round your score will show how you did against your handicap rating. Example. I am a 10 handicap. I take 10 off of 36 (average round of 18 pars index) and I find that I have to make 26 quota points over the 18 holes. If I play well -- I'll be over my "quota" of 26. So, if I score at 28, I'll be +2 on my ball. I add my individual score to the other three on my team and I get a total team score. Some might be minus... That team's score will post against the other team's and the winning team will spit the prize money.

Then, at lunch we will put names in the hat and pull two out at time. Each 2 man team will stand against the others and the winning team -- best quota score of 2 guy combined will win another prize.

There will be an individual competition too -- longest drive on one hole designated; and a closest to the pin on a designated par 3.

Teams are set by handicap this first day:

Matt Johnson / Marc Horner / Pete Hawkinson / Paul Hirsch
vs.
Paul Hawkinson / Tim Olsen / Tom Nelson / Kevin Anderson

THAT'S JUST THE A.M.

We will have time for lunch and to switch players for the afternoon rounds.

FRIDAY AFTERNOON: 2 man best ball competition (handicapped to course)
At lunch we will pull names from the hat for the afternoon competition.
These 2 man teams will play and count their best score (of the two players) on each hole.
So, if Pete Hawkinson and Paul Hawkinson are a team and Pete scores a 3 on the first hole and Paul scores at 4 -- the two man team's best ball is a 3 for hole number 1.
No closest to the pin or long drive in afternoon.

SATURDAY A.M. Teams are:
Matt Johnson / Tim Olsen / Pete Hawk / Kevin Anderson
vs.
Paul Hirsch / Marc Horner / Tom Nelson / Paul Hirsch
(I want us to all play with each other for the 3 days)

Game for the a.m. is CHA CHA CHA.
Like a best ball but with a twist.
The first hole the 4 man team only counts the best sc0re of the 4 -- a "cha"
... so if one guy gets a birdie the team is one under for the round so far...
The second hole the team must count 2 balls -- a "cha cha"
... so if two guys get pars (the two best of the team) they are still one under for the round.
The 3rd hole is the best 3 scores for the team ( a cha cha cha)
... so if 3 guys are a combined 3 over for the hole the team is then 2 over for the round by the third hole.
The 4th hole is a single cha / the 5th is a cha cha / the 6th is a cha cha cha
etc for the rest of the round.

We will have a closest to the pin and a long drive as well.

Afternoon on Saturday: 2 man scramble and alternate shot 9/9
We will draw names at lunch for 2 man teams
Scramble on the front 9 -- regular scramble rules.
Back 9 -- switch to alternate shot -- same two player teams.
no long drive or closest to pin in afternoon.

SUNDAY: Back to quota by team and 2 man pick at lunch
Teams on Sunday:
Matt Johnson / Paul Hawkinson / Pete Hawkinson / Tom Nelson
vs.
Kevin A / Paul Hirsch / Tim O / Marc Horner

(Now, I know this looks like the top 4 handicaps as a team but remember the handicaps come into play. So, shots are given on the holes per your handicap) Also, we will play with each other this way -- 3 different ways)

Longest drive and closest on this a.m. too.
